Psycoanalytic Criticism

Okay, here is something that finally makes sense to me! All of the other stuff contradicts itself and, at least to me, is a little confusing. The Freudian complex, I understand, and there is a set procedure to look for things.

  1. That's really funny! I think that Freud is the most difficult to get ahold of because his ideas are difficult to find in the text. But I do agree his theories work much better for literature than for psychology!

  2. I agree with Kate. I can understand Freud's theories and his set rules. Although, as Nora pointed out, it can be difficult to find in the text, it is not ambiguous as many of the other theories are. And I also really like how Freud's theories don't contradict themselves left and right. I find that for literature theory, Freud is one of the few that I remember after class is done, and can actually understand without someone explaining it to me over and over again.
